The player in the Five Nights at Freddy's video game series works as a nighttime security guard at the pizzeria and arcade owned by Freddy Fazbear. The film rights have been purchased by Warner Bros.
Five Nights at Freddy's began in 2014 with the release of the first game in the series. Following that point, a total of 13 FNAF games were released. There are nine additional traditional stories and four offshoots. A great deal of information about the real world, beyond the realm of animatronics and CCTV, has been made available to players during the course of these 13 games.
