Jagrs back in Pittsburgh so of course theres drama

PITTSBURGH You can say a lot Eric Allen Jerseys of things about Jaromir Jagr. Some bad, most not.

One thing about ol' Double J, though: Stuff is never boring when he's involved, and certainly not when the Penguins are on the other side.

On Tuesday night, and his first, former, favorite-in-a-weird-way team got its latest chapter. Early in the second period, after a little more than 20 minutesworth of back-and-forth with Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, Jagr left the game.

It was Bortuzzo's fault; he hit Jagr in the corner late, and po sibly high, and knocked him out of the game. Jagr stayed on the ice for a minute or so before making his way down the tunnel and to the locker room on his own. He never returned to the Devils' bench.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety planned to review the hit, as it should if the NHL Nakobe Dean Jerseys allows players a half-second after the puck is gone to finish their checks, Bortuzzo came close to quadruplingit. There was no obvious contact to the head, but he didn't go out of his way to avoid it, either.

No penalty was called on the play Devils coach Peter DeBoer said after the game, a 1-0 Pittsburgh win, that officials told him they didn't see it. It's not the DOPS's job to punish players for mi sed penalties, though that's not a factor in the supplementary discipline proce s. The question is whether the hit deserved more than a penalty.

The two had gone at each other all game; Bortuzzo, a physical player who has spent the past couple years yo-yoing between Pittsburgh's lineup and the pre s box, clearly had his Genard Avery Jerseys sights set on Jagr, and Jagr noticed. Shortly before the hit, he chopped at Bortuzzo's skates. Then, boom Alex Ovechkin blowing up Jagr during the 2010 Olympics came to mind Jalen Hurts Jerseys . Except that was clean.

After the game, the Devils were displeased. Forward Jordin Tootoo said he tried to get Bortuzzo to fight, and that it didn't work. He noticed, like everyone else, the near-mi ses that came before.

"I wish I would have been (on the ice) at that moment because there would have been gloves flying," Tootoo said.

"When you're a player that's going to run around and do s like that (to) our best players, it's my job to take action," he said. "I'm not going to forget what number (41) he is It's a long season."

DeBoer wasn't any happier, calling it "a real liberty" Darius Slay Jr. Jerseys and "totally unnece sary."

Then he broke out the war analogies.

"If one of our guys had done that to (Sidney Crosby)," he said, "it'd be World War IV."

Naturally, Bortuzzo and Mike Johnston said afterward that they thought the hit was clean. The player said " ." Johnston said he didn't have a problem with it.

And, just as naturally, Penguins fans didn't know how to react. That's in lock-step with the past 15 years or so; do they boo the guy for how it ended? Do they cheer him for how it started?

So, the audible cheers in Consol Energy Center while Jagr cleared the cobwebs andthen walked to the locker room, depending on who you asked, were either because he was hurt, or because he stood up on his own.

As always with Jagr Reid Sinnett Jerseys and the Penguins, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
